Reclaim Your Relationship With Medicine

Discover personalized coaching to help physicians reconnect with fulfillment and purpose. Whether rekindling your passion for medicine, restoring balance during professional challenges, or redefining your career path, empower yourself to enhance well-being and impact. Cultivate a clear vision rooted in renewed commitment to your values.

Coaching Philosophy

I coach physicians who are ready to rewrite their story in healthcare. From our first meeting, you'll find a safe, supportive space to explore what truly matters to you. I'll listen deeply to understand who you are, who you hoped to be as a doctor, and where you feel stuck. (Yes, there’s a cozy napping dog and a macramé wall hanging in my Zoom background—coziness is part of the process!)

Many physicians in these uncertain times feel disillusioned. You might be far from your original vision, with forces threatening your efforts to help patients—some seemingly insurmountable. You sense that your impact is shrinking, even as you give more of yourself. You find yourself in a relationship with medicine you never knowingly chose. I believe these are natural reactions within our current healthcare system. But what if you could explore these feelings and transform them into energetic, visionary change—for your life and, maybe, for the world?

While the system—bosses, colleagues, even family—holds you accountable to their demands, I hold you accountable to yourself. Together, we can:

  • Uncover your core values: What truly drives you? What’s out of balance right now?

  • Define your intentions: What impact do you want to make?

  • Envision your future: What does a fulfilling career and life look like?

  • Reignite your passion: How can you find the drive to improve the system or discover new ways of being a doctor?

Whether you’re surviving, seeking leadership, or planning an exit, I’ll meet you where you are. Let’s find or create your ideal space.

What do you want from your relationship with medicine?

Coach and Founder

Dr. Christie Mulholland is an experienced palliative care physician and passionate advocate for healthcare well-being. She is a Certified Physician Development Coach, trained through the Physician Coaching Institute, and is pursuing her Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

As an Associate Professor of Palliative Medicine at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine, she serves as Director of the Faculty Well-being Champions Program and coaches faculty. She has led initiatives to improve physician well-being across various areas, from optimizing the electronic health record to increasing access to mental health support, to building community at work.

With extensive clinical and leadership experience, Dr. Mulholland believes physicians are uniquely positioned to lead cultural and systemic change in healthcare. In unpredictable times, she champions innovative ideas and new ways of being a doctor, because clinging to old habits won’t meet today’s challenges.

Her coaching approach is deeply shaped by her personal journey through multi-year psychoanalysis, fostering self-awareness, presence, and attentive listening—keys she uses to support clients’ growth and resilience. She believes embracing personal insight is essential for meaningful individual and systemic change.

Christie lives in New York City with her husband James—a talented chef—and their cuddly and opinionated rescue pit bull, Brindi. When not coaching or practicing medicine, she enjoys fitness classes, exploring new restaurants, or escaping to nature to find her zen.

Working with Christie was a wonderful and welcome opportunity. Dr. Sara Bovitz

MD - Internal Medicine

Newburg, OR

Christie is simply a masterful coach. As a physician herself, she understands the cognitive dissonance that comes with struggling to function in a dysfunctional system, and her calm, centered presence creates a space that feels both supportive and safe. Her skill in asking powerful, insightful, questions helped me cut through the chaos, consider other perspectives, and discover the answers I already carried. I left feeling clear, and empowered to effect the change that I sought. Thank you Christie!

Why Coaching?

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) describes coaching as a "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential."

Many physicians turn to coaching when they sense untapped potential—feeling they’re missing true fulfillment, contemplating a new challenge, or considering a role change. Coaching offers a safe, supportive space to explore these possibilities, helping you reconnect with your purpose and find a meaningful path forward.

Research links professional coaching to reductions in emotional exhaustion and burnout, along with improvements in overall quality of life and resilience. As a well-being leader, I see physicians ready to move beyond just describing burnout, seeking interventions that truly help. Coaching is a powerful way to enhance well-being, clarity, and confidence.

Coaching is often eligible for CME Category 2 credit.
